Teach n’ Kids Learn (TKL) to award over $20,000 in grants for Professional Development

During the 2016 Spring-term, Teach n’ Kids Learn will be awarding professional development grants, which target School Improvement Plans. This grant offering is looking to target schools within the States of Michigan, Ohio and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The selected schools/districts will have the opportunity to receive a package of 30 fully-credited comprehensive online PD courses or the equivalent to $5000 grant.

Teach n’ Kids Learn (TKL) has developed a grant program to provide schools with the opportunity to accomplish their Professional Development requirements and give teachers the chance of experiencing the difference in quality and applicability provided in the vast online course catalog offered by this dynamic and innovative professional development provider.

All of the PD courses were developed by a select group of experienced educators and leading experts in Mathematics, English language Arts, English Language Learners, effective curriculum, instruction, and assessment methods. By partnering with Teach n’ Kids Learn these education experts have developed practical and engaging courses which provide teachers with an in-depth examination of the recent instructional shifts, and strategies for supporting successful integration into their classrooms.

When asked why to offer these grants, Jodi Slonaker, Director of TKL Operations, said: “We have been working with educators since 2008 with a focus on identifying the fundamental factors needed within today’s professional development to improve classroom instruction. This experience has led us to the development of easy-to-use comprehensive online courses which are accessible for teachers whenever time permits in their busy schedules.

Our supportive process guides teachers in continuously fine tune their knowledge and skills. We work with teachers to achieve their professional goals as well as meeting the demands of today’s student. We want to give teachers the opportunity to do this effectively through our growing Individualized, Reflective, and Transformative online course offerings.”

The deadline to apply for the Michigan Professional Development grant is December 11, 2015.

The Professional Development grant applications for Ohio and the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), should be submitted no later than January 29, 2016.
