Leading A Guided PLC Team

Some of the challenges faced in both new and existing PLCs are knowing where to begin, how to engage everyone in a shared purpose, how to work on developing both individualized and collaborative knowledge and skills, how to engage members of the PLC is reflective discourse, and how to work both individually and collaboratively towards a shared goal.

A Guided PLC is designed in such a way as to walk PLC members through the process from beginning to end using goal-setting processes, forming norms for collaborative work, developing methods for both individual and collaborative growth, and meeting agendas and discussion prompts. Through this guidance, members can focus on the work to be done rather than on what the process is supposed to look like as they work.

The TKL Guided PLC program is comprised of both individual and collaborative learning opportunities. Throughout the process participants will be assisted and supported by a TKL Guided PLC Facilitator and will complete much of their work within the online course learning space, and will combine that work with face-to-face Guided PLC meetings.
